Backpacking is an experience, but carrying your gear shouldn’t be the most cumbersome part of the adventure. We’ve been on enough trips to know that camping equipment can be heavy or too cheap to warrant bringing it. However, one of the most versatile tools to take along is a good sturdy teapot. Whether you’re boiling snow, making coffee, or cooking food you will need one that packs well for your trip. The best camping teapot for backpackers will be lightweight, packable and durable. And, we’ve found some of the best teapots below.
What Makes a Great Camping Teapot?
Camp gear needs to pull its weight. After experimenting with various products over the years, we are confident that we’ve found some great contenders for great kettles. We used the following features to sort through the bulk of camping gear to find the best for those of us that are heading through the trails.
- Easy to Carry: For multi-day excursions, it will be ESPECIALLY important not to feel the burden of a bulky piece of equipment. A quality camping teapot can easily be carried or stowed away in a backpack.
- Lightweight Construction: Will you want to carry a teapot twenty miles before setting up camp? You won’t if it’s too heavy. Aluminum, titanium, and thin-walled stainless steel are all examples of lightweight materials you should consider.
- Multi-Functional: When it comes to teapots for camping, please realize that the best units are multi-functional, and that “teapot” is just one of the uses for the receptacle. Some of the best teapots also function as mugs, cookware, and something that can carry other items while backpacking.
- Extreme Durability: Limited movable parts on camping equipment means there is less likelihood the item can fail when you need it most. Teapots with simplistic design elements, which are comprised of metal are best.
Our Favorite Camping Teapots Are...
